Dr. André Koch a biodiversity
researcher engaged in the diversity, discovery and distribution of
amphibians and reptiles of the Indo-Australian realm with special
foci on the monitor lizards of the entire region and the
herpetofauna of Sulawesi. Also global species diversity and
exploration belong to my research interests. In a broader sense, Iam
working on the history of natural history and natural history
collections, particularly in relation to the colonial era of
Southeast Asia.
Dr. André Koch is a member of
Alexander-Koenig-Gesellschaft (AKG), Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde (DGHT), Deutscher Museumsbund e.V.,
Gesellschaft für Biologische Systematik, International Society for
the History and Bibliography of Herpetology, Zoologische
Gesellschaft für Arten- und Populationsschutz (ZGAP).
